Destination covered: Dimapur – Kohima – Dzukou Valley – Khonoma – Dimapur

Best time to visit: March, April and from end June till September when the valley is in full bloom. From Oct to Feb the temperature gets very cold in the valley. Also, best time to visit Nagaland is from October to March.

Arrive at Dimapur airport. Our representative will meet and greet you. Drive to Kohima, capital of Nagaland. Check-in at accommodation. 

After lunch, visit WWII cemetery. Later back to accommodation and rest of the day at leisure.

Overnight stay @ Kohima.

Meals: Nil.

Kohima: Kohima is the capital of Nagaland. It was also one of the bloodiest battle of WWII. It lies in the foot range of Japfu hills at an elevation of 1261m. 

Also the famous Hornbill festival is held here every year from 1 Dec – 10 Dec.

WWII Cemetery: Kohima War Cemetery is a memorial dedicated to soldiers of the 2nd British Division of the Allied Forces who died in the Second World War at Kohima in April 1944. There are 1,420 Commonwealth burials of the Second World War at this cemetery.

After breakfast, drive to Viswema village. Reach the trek point. Start your trek from here. It will take close to 3 hrs however, depends on your own pace. Enjoy the jungle trail as you trek along. You can have pack lunch mid way or upon reaching the valley. On arrival enjoy the beauty of the valley.

Accommodation type: There are no standard accommodation @ Dzukou valley. It will be either pitch tent on twin sharing / or very basic hut which are rented up there in the valley. It’s totally excluded away in Nature therefore, no technology service.

Overnight stay @ Dzukou valley.

Meal plan: Breakfast + Pack lunch + Dinner

Wake up early and watch the sunrise. After breakfast, explore around a little bit and then trek back downhill towards the base camp via Jakhama trail. On reaching Viswema village, drive back to accommodation.

Post lunch, a village tour around Kigwema village.

Overnight stay in Kohima.

Meals: Breakfast only.

After breakfast, drive to Khonoma.

Asia’s first green village. Explore Angami tribes. Enjoy a guided tour of the village.Visit the ceremonial gates, morung, Khonoma fort, visit age group house, meet local craftsmen, and witness the weaving of shawls and cane basket making.

After lunch, drive back to Kohima.

Khonoma: Khonoma village is located about 20 km from the state capital, Kohima. The village, referred to as Khwunoria (named after the tribe of Angami term for a local plant, Glouthera fragrantisima), is estimated to be around 700 years old and is spread over an area of 123sq.km. The total population of the village is about 3000, settled in 600 households. Khonoma is famous for its forests and a unique form of agriculture, including some of the oldest terraced cultivation in the region. The terrain of the village is hilly, ranging from gentle slopes to steep and rugged hillsides. The hills are covered with lush forestland, rich in various species of flora and fauna. The state bird, Blyth’s tragopan, a pheasant now nationally endangered, is reportedly found here. Over a hundred years ago, advancing British troops found themselves facing a determined warrior tribe in the highlands of Nagaland. The Angami men of Khonoma, famed for their martial prowess and strategic skills, fought a resolute battle to safeguard their territory, inflicting heavy casualties on the foreign soldiers. The village is recorded to have resisted British rule in the region from 1830s to 1880.

After breakfast, drive to Dimapur airport/ railway station. Bid adieu. Our trip ends here with beautiful experiences of the hills of Nagaland.

  • A deposit of 50% of the total amount of the booking must be paid either by bank transfer or credit card within 7 days of the issuance of the booking confirmation. If the payment is not received within this time, the booking may be cancelled without notice.
  • The remaining outstanding 50% balance is to be paid 30 days prior the departure of the tour by bank transfer or credit card payment.
  • A delay in the payment of the balance may result in the cancellation of the booking and the company is not responsible for any charges incurred.
  • 25% of the total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees if cancellations are made 30 days before the start of the trip.
  • 50% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees if cancellations are made between 15-30 days before the start of the trip.
  • No refund i.e., 100% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees if cancellations are made 0-15 days before the start of the trip.
  • In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain trips or activities may get cancelled. In such circumstances, the operator will try their best to provide an alternative feasible. However, a cash refund will not be applicable for the same.
  • All cancellations are strictly subjected to the cancellation policies mentioned on the website.
