Sham Valley Trek
The stark landscapes of Ladakh in Northern India draws all kinds of travelers. Some are happy simply walking around Leh, mesmerizing the mountains and the monasteries, while others spend weeks traversing some of India’s toughest terrain in the mighty Himalaya.
Sham Valley Trek: The Sham valley trek, also known as the “Baby trek” is a short 3-day trek perfect for beginners or those hoping to do a bit of warm-up before a more strenuous adventure. Don’t let the name ‘baby’ deter you, though one of the easiest treks in Ladakh, the Sham valley trek is also tiring at times due to altitude, and you’ll certainly break a sweat. The passes are all around 12000ft. A basic level fitness is still required for this trek, but this is just the perfect highly recommended trek for everyone and not to miss the breathtaking astounding view of the Nature along the way.

Arrived at Leh. Our representative will meet and greet you and then take you to your accommodation. Rest of the day rest and acclimatize to the altitude. Leh is at an altitude of 3500m (11482ft) and it is advised after arrivals to take at least one day rest to adjust to the altitude.

After breakfast, today will be the day exploring the monastery in Ladakh. Visit Hemis,Chemrey,Thiksey,Shey, Stok.

Distance: 9Km/4-5hrs Trek. Level: Moderate.
Start early after breakfast, about 2hrs drive to Likir. Visit Likir monastery. After Likir, your trek to Yangthang starts. Althought the distance is short today, the route is hot, without any shade or water and you must traverse two passes, so start early with water bottles filled.
If we reach early and have the energy, then we can visit Rizdong Monastery, which lies about an hour south of Yangthang. This quiet, secluded gompa is over a hundred years old and nestles in a narrow gorge.

Distance: 8Km/2-3hrs Trek. Level: Easy.
After breakfast, todays trek is an easy walk despite the pass because both the approach and the descent are of gentle gradients. From Yangthang village, head back through the fields and crossing a stream before climbing up to Tsermangchen La (12303ft). Take a break at the pass before heading down to beautiful HemisShukpachan. The village named after the grove of cedars (shukpa in ladakhi) is one of Ladakh’s prettiest village. There are plenty of sparkling streams surrounded by shady willows and large fields that add the much needed dash of green to the otherwise desolate, rocky mountain.

Distance: 10Km/3hrs, Level: Easy.
After breakfast, again a fairly easy trek today. Set off the trek in a splendid mood early in the morning from HemisShukpachan. The walk to Tingmosgam leads you through some of the most epic vistas of the trip. There is one more mountain pass to conquer – Mebtak La (3750m). From there, head down the gorge to Ang village – a charming village with apricot orchards during apricot season in late June.

After breakfast, drive back to Leh. En route AlchiGompa and Basgo fort.

Post an early breakfast around 08:00AM, road journey to Nubra valley starts via Khardungla pass at an altitude of 5602m (18390ft). Can stop for a short break and see the Khardungla top. Upon arrival Nubra valley, check-in to accommodation (Camp/hotel/resort).
Post lunch, enjoy a Camel safari on the double-humped Bactrian camel which are found only in Ladakh and Mongolia. Evening at leisure around the village.

After an early breakfast around 8AM, drive back towards Leh. En route visit Diskit monastery – a 515 year old monastery situated on the hill top facing the entire valley. Upon reaching, check-in at accommodation. Rest of the evening at your own leisure.

This trip will be either to Pangong Lake or tso Moriri.
Pangong Tso ( 6hrsapprox) : After an early morning breakfast, around 08:00AM, we depart for Pangong lake which is at an altitude of 4400m (14436ft) via Changla pass-5486m ( 17998ft). The long ascend will take you to Changla pass and its winding road passing through Sakti village. You will Durbuk and Tangtse villages in the changthang region in Ladakh, treating your eyes to all its raw scenic Himalayan beauty around you. After passing through few villages in the Changthang region, finally you will come to the view of the turquoise Pangonglake.
Rest of the day, enjoy the scenic beauty of the Pangong view and surrounding.

Tso Moriri Lake: Tso Moriri is a lake in the Changthang region in Ladakh. The lake and surrounding area are protected as the Tso Moriri Wetland conservation Reserve. Situated at an altitude of 4522m(14835ft) near a small village called Korzok. Korzok village is amongst the highest village in the world nd the highest settlement in India. Near the lake is also the breeding ground for numerous avifauna species. Tso Moriri attracts a range of wildlife, including migratory birds, marmots and rarely the Tibetan wolves.
Visit the village and the Drukpa Buddhist Korzok monastery.

After an early breakfast, drive to Leh via Tso Kar lake. En route stop by and visit Puga Geo-thermal gas spring. Visit Stakna or other nearby monastery.
Drive back to Leh. If there is time and have energy then visit Leh palace and Shanti stupa. Evening leisure time and shopping souvenir in Leh market.

- A deposit of 50% of the total amount of the booking must be paid either by bank transfer or credit card within 7 days of the issuance of the booking confirmation. If the payment is not received within this time, the booking may be cancelled without notice.
- The remaining outstanding 50% balance is to be paid 30 days prior the departure of the tour by bank transfer or credit card payment.
- A delay in the payment of the balance may result in the cancellation of the booking and the company is not responsible for any charges incurred.
- 25% of the total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees if cancellations are made 30 days before the start of the trip.
- 50% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees if cancellations are made between 15-30 days before the start of the trip.
- No refund i.e., 100% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees if cancellations are made 0-15 days before the start of the trip.
- In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain trips or activities may get cancelled. In such circumstances, the operator will try their best to provide an alternative feasible. However, a cash refund will not be applicable for the same.
- All cancellations are strictly subjected to the cancellation policies mentioned on the website.

- Credit Cards / Traveler’s check are not freely accepted in many places.
- We advise you to check the temperature/weather of the places you are going to visit, and bring necessary clothes accordingly.
- Woollen clothes, Jacket, Raincoat/Umbrella etc. are advisable to carry according to weather conditions.
- Any extra breakfast for kids which is not mentioned has to be paid directly by guest as per the hotel policy.
- The normal check-in time for a hotel is 12 PM, and normal check-out time for a hotel is 11 AM. However, this is subjected to change as per the hotel policies. The timing of meals and/or inclusions of a certain hotel room are as per the hotel policies.
- Liability for change in itinerary due to reasons beyond our control like change in flight and train schedule; cancellations of flight/trains, political disturbances, cause of natural phenomenon, other force majeure, etc. will not be accommodated in the cost.
- Consumption of alcohols and other intoxicants are at your own cost. We request you to be very minimal with such activities during your trip.
- The vehicle for sightseeing is available on an itinerary basis only, and will not be on disposal unless some cases of emergencies.

- We encourage you to carry water bottle which can be refilled, so that we prevent uses of plastic water bottles which only increases the waste disposal.

Travelers require Inner line permits to visit the restricted areas like Pangong Lake and Nubra Valley.
Permits will be arranged by us from the District magistrate’s office for which we require the original photo ID proof (passport, driving license or Election ID).
The permit costs include Red Cross society, Wildlife fee and Environmental fee.
The District Magistrate office Leh is not authorised to issue permits to the nationalities of Bangladesh, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, People’s Republic of China, Taiwan, Afghanistan and people holding Diplomatic and official passport and visa. These Nationalities and Diplomatic/ Official passport holders can get permit issued from the Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi through respective Embassies.
